DaysofPal – Israeli attacks on Lebanon escalated sharply in southern Lebanon on Wednesday despite the proclaimed ceasefire agreement between the US administration and Iran.
Lebanese media reported that at least two people were killed and several others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the town of Maarakeh in the south.
In a separate wave of strikes, nine civilians were injured after Israeli warplanes carried out around 10 air raids on the towns of Al-Sarira and Al-Qatrani in the Jezzine district.
Airstrikes also hit the same areas earlier at dawn, according to local reports, while Monday’s attacks across southern and eastern Lebanon left 11 people dead and 11 others injured.
The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said the total number of casualties from Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 1,497 killed and 4,639 wounded.
The ongoing Israeli war underscores growing concerns of a broader regional confrontation, as clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah continue despite mounting casualties and international calls for restraint.
