DayofPal– A series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip has killed at least 92 Palestinians in a single day, marking one of the deadliest days since the war began in October 2023.
Among the worst-hit locations was the Thailandi restaurant in central Gaza, where a direct strike killed 25 people and wounded dozens more, including women, children, and a journalist.
The restaurant, crowded during peak hours, was targeted, leaving behind scenes of devastation. Witnesses reported that entire families were killed while briefly seeking respite amid ongoing war.
Israeli strikes also hit the Tal Al-Hawa and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods. Journalist Yahya Sabih was among the victims, killed only hours after fellow journalist Nour Al-Din Matar was killed in a separate attack.
According to local press syndicates, 214 journalists have been killed since the start of the Israeli military offensive in October.
The Hamas resistance movement condemned the airstrikes, describing them as part of a “barbaric massacre” and accusing Israel of committing systematic acts of genocide.
In a statement, Hamas called for immediate international intervention to halt the genocide and hold Israeli leaders accountable.
“This is part of a larger strategy to break the will of the Palestinian people through mass killing, starvation, and siege,” the statement read.
In another devastating incident, Israeli forces bombed the Abu Hamisa School in the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp, which was serving as a shelter for displaced families.
The attack killed 29 people and injured more than 50 others, many of them children who were playing in the courtyard at the time.
Shortly after the bombing, the Israeli military reportedly issued warnings about an impending strike on the nearby Ibad Al-Rahman Mosque. As families attempted to evacuate, additional strikes hit both the mosque and another school nearby sheltering displaced residents.
Gaza’s already strained healthcare system is now facing collapse. Medical teams report severe shortages of medicine and equipment, forcing them to ration care.
International humanitarian organizations have condemned the destruction of civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and shelters, as potential war crimes.
As the death toll mounts and the humanitarian crisis deepens, calls are growing for the international community to take urgent action to stop the ongoing violence and protect Gaza’s civilian population.
