DayofPal-Gaza’s Ministry of Health has issued a final plea to all free people and humanitarian as well as health organizations around the globe, demanding an urgent rescue of the only operational Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, on Monday.
The ministry said that the Israeli forces continue to violently bombard and destroy Kamal Adwan Hospital, sustaining damages to all its facilities. The medical staff and patients have been thereby injured due to the attacks.
It displayed that medical teams are unable to move between the hospital’s departments in a bid for saving the injured medical staff due to the intensity of gunfire.
“It seems that a decision has been made to execute all medical personnel who refused to evacuate the hospital,” the ministry added as it issued a call for help that could be the hospital’s “last distress call”.
In a video message, the hospital’s director, Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, reported that the strikes “reached every corner of the hospital”, hitting its water supplies, courtyard and the electricity network.
The Israeli attacks wounded six people, including a 13-year-old girl who had just undergone an operation, he said.
“She was hit by shrapnel, she was already injured and receiving treatment for her first injury,” Safiya said. “She was struck again in this attack, sustaining a serious abdominal injury.”
Palestinian doctor Abu Safiy described the horrific crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Kamal Adwan Hospital as “apocalyptic”, confirming that there are over 120 wounded and dozens of newborns facing the threat of annihilation.
On Sunday evening, Israeli forces attacked the Kamal Adwan Hospital, severely wounding several children and damaging the facility’s nursery. Meanwhile, an Israeli drone also fired on the gates and walls of the nearby Indonesian Hospital.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya said Israeli artillery targeted the hospital’s facilities, including the pediatric ward and nursery, leaving several children injured, including one in critical condition.
Abu Safiya confirmed that “Israeli artillery shells are falling on us from all directions, and drone aircraft are firing on anyone who moves, adding “We are experiencing a genocide inside the hospital.”
He further revealed that “There is not a single ambulance in northern Gaza and the hospital is in a state of near-total collapse.”
Abu Safiya also call on the world to intervene to protect the hospital from ongoing Israeli targeting.
Gaza government’s media office said in a statement on Telegram today Monday that all hospitals in northern Gaza are now out of service, amid ceaseless Israeli air strikes and a tightened siege that prevents access to humanitarian aid including medical supplies.
The office also added that 1,800 people were killed and 4,000 wounded in northern Gaza in only the past month.
The statement noted that civil defence teams have faced attacks while on duty, with some members being arrested or prevented from carrying out their work.
