Israeli apartheid Court Drops Charges of Terrorism Against Manasra

The Occupation apartheid Court in Beersheba overruled the “terrorist” label on the case of the prisoner Ahmed Manasra on, Wednesday 13th of April

Defense lawyer Khaled Al-Zabarqa said that “the court did not issue a conclusive  decision regarding the release of Manasra, but it nullified the decision of the “Third Committee” that Manasra’s case fell under the Terrorism Law.”

He added that the court referred the prisoner’s case to the committee in order to search again for the options of early release for Manasra, after dropping the term “terrorism” from his file.

Al-Zabarqa pointed out that tomorrow a request will be submitted to hold the “third committee” session as soon as possible in the presence of lawyers and to base its decision on the “Minors Law”   instead of the Anti-Terrorism Law, especially since all conditions for early release do apply on the adolescent.

This came as an outcome after the occupation court in Ashkelon held a session to discuss the request for the immediate release of prisoner Manasra, submitted by his defense team.

It is worth mentioning that Manasra has spent a little short of a decade in Israeli jails and under both physical and psychological torture as early as he was as little as under 14 years of age, which makes his seizure and imprisonment illegal under the Israeli judicial law.

The occupation court convicted Manasra in 2016 of carrying out an operation in the “Psgat Ze’ev” settlement in 2015 with his cousin, the martyr Hassan Manasra (13 years).

On October 12, 2015, Ahmed and his cousin Hassan were subjected to abuse by settlers, and at that time videos were published of sight of him lying on the ground in a puddle of his own blood screaming while he was injured, while occupation soldiers were trying to pin him to the ground and abuse him while calling him lewd terms and others of him being psychologically tortured in interrogation.

For weeks people have rallied in protest in various Palestinian cities to help get Manasra his freedom. internet storms and social media attention has been solely focused on Manasra who became a folk figure and the subject of sympathy for many
