On Friday, April 22nd Lotfi Ibrahim Labadi (20 years), from the town of Yamoun, died due to wounds the Israeli occupation forces afflicted him a few days earlier, medical sources at Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin announced.
Israeli forces have significantly escalated the killing and repression of Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem during the past several days, this comes after ‘a green light’ from the political officials in Israel, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said.
In the first half of this month, Euro-Med Monitor’s field team documented the deaths of 18 Palestinians, the majority of whom were killed following Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s vocal-encouraging-statements, granting the Israeli army a free reign to wage an unrelenting war on what he loosely described as terrorism.
Since 2022, the Euro-Med Monitor has documented the deaths of 48 Palestinians by Israeli forces, including eight children and three women. This figure is roughly five times higher than the ten Palestinians murdered by the Israeli army during the same period last year.
The Israeli forces’ aggression spread to Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning entering its eighth day. as large groups of Israeli police have invaded the mosque’s courtyards and violently attacked worshipers inside, vandalized its facilities, and broke its windows, worshipers were severely assaulted with rubber-coated steel bullets, deliberately aimed at the upper body, and stun guards and manual beating by occupation police’s batons, injuring over 152 Palestinians and arresting 400 more, according to Aljazeera’s latest count (April 15th)
The Israeli raids were primarily aimed at the city of Jenin and its refugee camp and the old city of Jerusalem, for the former was the hometown of Ra’ad Hazem, the aligned shooter of Tel Aviv. That being the reason for performing policy of collective punishment on the ground and that of excessive use of force against the Palestinians. The latter coinciding with the religious holidays of Ramadan, Jewish Passover and the Easter for Christians, which crossed over this year and the ultra-nationalist groups ceased to challenge and change the status quo in the old city in favor of land-grabbing the holy site of Haram Alsharief under pretexts of religious practice: a provocative charade that was done last year and incited the last war on Gaza.
