DaysofPal- For the second consecutive month, Israel continued bombing Lebanon with a sharp escalation in airstrikes across multiple areas recently, resulting in casualties, widespread destruction, and renewed displacement of civilians, particularly in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
In the early hours of Monday, the Israeli forces issued evacuation warnings for seven areas in Beirut’s southern suburbs, signaling imminent strikes.
The warnings triggered fresh waves of civilian displacement as residents fled targeted neighborhoods.
On the ground, the Lebanese group Hezbollah said it continues to target Israeli forces’ gatherings and military vehicles in southern Lebanon and northern areas of the occupied Palestinian territories, describing its actions as a response to ongoing Israeli attacks.
According to preliminary reports, an Israeli airstrike on the town of Mashghara in the western Bekaa Valley killed two people and injured five others.
In southern Lebanon, another strike in the town of Jouaiya completely destroyed a residential home.
Additional air raids targeted several areas in the south, including locations near Nabatieh. A drone strike hit a vehicle near the Kfarreman–Nabatieh roundabout, killing four people inside and setting the car ablaze.
Another strike near a fuel station in the same area and a separate attack near Ghandour Hospital resulted in further casualties, including one fatality.
In the Bint Jbeil district, Israeli air raids hit the towns of Safad al-Battikh and Haris. Meanwhile, an Israeli strike on a house in Burj Rahal killed three people and injured another, as rescue teams continued efforts to remove rubble.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that an Israeli strike in the Janah area south of Beirut killed five people, including a 15-year-old girl and two Sudanese nationals, and wounded 52 others, among them eight children.
In Nabatieh district, a drone strike on a car near Toul killed both parents and injured their two children where another strike in the hills of Ain Saadeh left three people dead, including two women, and injured three others.
In response, Hezbollah announced it had launched rocket barrages targeting Israeli settlements in northern occupied Palestinian territories, including Liman, Horfesh, Nahariya, and Shlomi. Hezbollah stated that the attacks were in line with prior warnings issued to these areas.
