The Iranian Ministry of Security announced Monday, July 24, 2023, that its security forces discovered a “large Zionist terrorist network” and arrested its members, who planned to carry out bombings in the country.
State TV said Iranian security forces have arrested “members of a large Zionist-terrorist network in possession of 43 bombs” with “high destructive power and remote control capabilities.”
Among the 43 bombs, 20 were launch-capable, which proved that they were “prepared to be used against people taking part in Muharram ceremonies,” the ministry stated.
It said the network was planning to carry out sabotage operations during the month of Muharram, including the bombing of the shrine of Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.
Iranian media added that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard arrested the cell which includes four members, who were planning to carry out “terrorist operations” in the country.
According to the statement, the “terrorists” had previously conducted several attacks on Iranian soil and filmed themselves doing so to their employers, expressing their capability and readiness to carry out more terrorist operations.
The Israeli occupation has been escalating its attacks on the countries that support the Palestinian resistance in Palestine, the top of which is Iran, attempting to cut all aid supplied for Palestinians to stay steadfast under the Apathied Israeli regime and its repeated attacks and violations against them.
