Israeli occupation navy on Monday, July 18, opened heavy fire at Palestinian fishing boats off Rafah shore, southern Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that the Israeli navy heavily targeted the Palestinian boats with live bullets, and tear gas canisters, prompting the fishermen to rush toward the beach.
4000 Palestinian fishermen risk their lives every day to make a living. According to the Palestinian Fishermen’s Association in Gaza, there are some 4,000 fishermen working in Gaza’s fishing sector, who are providing for about 50,000 dependents.
East of Khan Younis, locals reported that the Israeli forces stationed along with the Gaza fence opened fire at the Palestinian homes in the border area of Al-Qarara town.
Palestinians in Gaza are living under air, land, and sea blockade imposed by Israel since 2006. Israel deliberately targets Palestinian fishing boats and agricultural lands on daily basis.
