The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire Wednesday evening, February 1, 2023 at Palestinian border guards with machine guns, stationed towards Al-Shujaia neighborhood, on the eastern borders of the Gaza Strip.
Local sources said that the occupation forces, stationed at the eastern borders and opened fire with machine guns towards the eastern area of Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood in the eastern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, confrontations erupted this evening between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, during which the occupation soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets, tear gas canisters and sound bombs.
IOF also closed the Beit Iksa village checkpoint, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, which is the only entrance to the village, and prevented entry and exit from it, as hundreds of citizens and dozens of cars had been lining up for more than three hours under heavy rain, waiting to be allowed to pass. They appealed to human rights organizations to intervene in order to allow them access to their homes.
