Israeli occupation forces IOF on Wednesday, August 10, launched a large-scale detention campaign in different areas in the occupied West Bank and detained at least 14 Palestinians, including a senior Islamic Jihad leader.
According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces detained at least five Palestinians after raiding Al Mughayer village and other areas in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. During the raid, Israeli occupation forces searched and wreak havoc on a number of Palestinian houses.
The Palestinian Prisoners Information center stated in a brief statement that Israeli occupation forces detained five Palestinians at a military checkpoint, north of the occupied Ramallah.
For its part, the Palestinian Prisoners Club that Israeli forces detained three Palestinians, including the Islamic Jihad leader Firas Hassan, while passing the “Container” military checkpoint, east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank. Eyewitnesses reported that IOF closed the checkpoint, preventing Palestinian vehicles from passing.
Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces also arrested three young men after breaking into and searching their homes in the town of Al-Khader, south of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Israel has illegally occupied the West Bank in 1967. Since then, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out near-daily raids in the West Bank, breaking into the civilian’s houses, wreaking havoc on them, and kidnapping dozens.
