Days of Palestine – Jenin
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) set up on Saturday several military checkpoints near the junction of the town of Arraba and the village of Kfirt, and on the main street in the village of Bir al-Basha, south of Jenin.
Local sources said that the IOF stopped the Palestinian vehicles, searched them, and checked their passengers’ IDs, which obstacles the citizens’ movements.
They added that clashes erupted last night between citizens and the IOF at the Araba junction on Jenin Street – Nablus, during which soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets, sound bombs, and tear gas.
Many restrictions on freedom of movement for Palestinian residents are directly linked to the IOF, including restrictions aimed at protecting the settlements and maintaining “buffer zones”. Restrictions include checkpoints, settler-only roads, and physical impediments created by walls and gates.
