Israeli occupation forces IOF on Monday, August 29, detained a number students, teachers, and journalists, coinciding with the first day of the new school year, in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
A source from the Directorate of Education in Masafer Yatta reported that the Israeli occupation forces detained a number of teaching staff, students, and journalists at the entrance to the village of Janba while heading to school.
The IOF detained prevented them from reaching the village school for an hour, under the pretext that the school was located in a military training area, before releasing them.
He added that Palestinian students are subjected to severe harassment by the Israeli occupation and its settlers during their educational path, forcing the parents to accompany their children out of fear for them.
