Israeli occupation forces IOF demolished a Palestinian restaurant in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Palestinian local sources reported that Israeli troops, accompanied by a bulldozer, invaded the Ain Gwiza area, West of occupied Bethlehem.
The sources pointed out that Israeli troops demolished a restaurant owned by the Palestinian Rashid Bargouth under the pretext of building without a permit.
Israeli occupation authorities don’t allow Palestinians to build without permits. However, obtaining a building permit for Palestinians is extremely complicated.
Israeli forces demolished about 952 Palestinian facilities in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in 2022, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
According to OCHA, the Israeli 2022 demolitions displaced about 1,031 Palestinians. It also affected about 28,000 others in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
