Israeli occupation forces IOF attacked on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, mourners at a Palestinian funeral and injured a Palestinian youth in Beit Ummar town in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
Palestinian activist Mohammed Awad reported that Israeli occupation forces attacked a funeral in Beit Ummar town, and prevented mourners from reaching the cemetery located at the entrance of the town.
In a press statement, Activist Awad said that Israeli forces, on the roof of the Palestinian houses, fired live bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades.
He added that dozens suffered tear gas suffocation. Meanwhile, a Palestinian youth was injured after being hit by a live bullet in the thigh.
Attacking funerals is not a rarity for Israel. Several Palestinian funerals were attacked earlier in 2022, including the funeral of the slain Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.
