DaysofPal– A joint investigation by the Hind Rajab Foundation and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights has revealed the full sequence behind the deadly attack on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis on 25 August 2025, which killed 22 Palestinians, including five journalists and four medical workers.
The findings have been submitted to the International Criminal Court.
According to the report, the Golani Brigade orchestrated the attack under constant drone surveillance, while the 188th Armored Brigade, led by Colonel Mickey Sharvit, executed the assault with laser-guided “Lahat” missiles from Merkava tanks.
Evidence shows that the Israeli attack was deliberate, with two coordinated strikes on the same stairwell, where journalists, medical personnel, and patients were present.
Reuters photographer Hussam Al-Masri was killed in the first strike, and the second strike was timed to target rescue teams and increase civilian casualties.
The investigation confirms that senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, authorized the operation.
Chief of Israeli staff Zamir sanctioned the dual-strike strategy, which deliberately maximized death and terror among civilians.
The analysis of debris and video footage demonstrates the use of guided weapons, confirming the attack was intentional rather than accidental.
The report emphasizes that Nasser Hospital massacre is part of a broader pattern of targeting civilians, journalists, and medical facilities in Gaza.
Since October 2023, over 270 journalists have been killed, and 94% of hospitals have been damaged or destroyed.
The organizations warn that these systematic attacks align with strategies consistent with genocide, as they aim to deprive Palestinians of survival and erase evidence of their suffering.
The Hind Rajab Foundation and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights have called on the International Criminal Court to open an investigation and issue arrest warrants against all those responsible, from operational personnel to senior military and political leaders.
This attack marks the second deliberate targeting of journalists at Nasser Hospital in less than a month, highlighting ongoing threats to civilians and media workers in Gaza amid continued Israeli military operations.
