Hundreds of British citizens on Wednesday, July 6, 2023, took to the streets in various parts of the country to protest against the Israeli occupation forces’ crime against Jenin and its camp, in which Israeli occupation forces IOF killed 12 Palestinians, including 5 children, and injured over 100 others.
Zaher Birawi, the head of the Palestinian Forum in Britain, stated that hundreds of British citizens demonstrated yesterday in front of the (Israeli) embassy in London to show solidarity with the people of Jenin and its camp and to protest against the Israeli crimes and terrorism carried out by the occupation forces, as well as the British policies that support the occupation.
Birawi added that the protest was organized by the Palestinian Forum in collaboration with a number of institutions supporting Palestinian rights, in addition to the Islamic Association in Britain and the “Stop the War” movement.
Former leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, was also present at the protest.
He emphasized that what is happening in Jenin is in violation of all international laws and that the occupation entity is undoubtedly an apartheid state.
He called for the international community to move beyond justifying the occupation and to take action to hold the occupation entity accountable for its crimes and protect the Palestinian people.
Corbyn also stressed the need to continue popular movements in support of Palestinian rights and to utilize all possible legal means to support and stand with the Palestinian people in Jenin.
