DaysofPal- Hamas has denied Israeli media reports alleging that the movement is developing its military capabilities or preparing to launch attacks from the Gaza Strip.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said on Monday that the reports are being used as a pretext to escalate Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and to tighten the blockade imposed on the territory.
Qassem reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement signed in October 2025 to establish a ceasefire, despite the ongoing daily Israeli violations targeting civilians.
He called on mediators and countries guaranteeing the agreement to intervene in order to halt Israeli escalation and compel Israel to adhere to the terms of the comprehensive truce.
The Israeli allegations accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire come while Israeli attacks and violations continue across the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, three Palestinians were killed and 16 others injured over the past 24 hours, with the casualties arriving at hospitals across Gaza.
In a statement, the ministry said a number of victims remain trapped beneath the rubble and in the streets, while ambulance and civil defense crews continue to face severe difficulties reaching them.
The ministry added that since the ceasefire began on October 11 of last year, the total number of Palestinians killed has risen to 854, while injuries reached 2,453. Authorities have also recorded 770 recovered bodies during the same period.
Regarding the overall toll since the start of the Israel-genocidal campaign on October 7, 2023, the ministry stated that the cumulative number of Palestinians killed has reached 72,740, while the number of injured has climbed to 172,555.
