The Hamas Movement stressed that Israel’s occupation approval of building 4,000 settlement units in the occupied West Bank and demolishing around 12 Palestinian hamlets in Yatta south of Hebron won’t grant Israel any legitimacy or security.
“Approving of the settlement plans and the displacement of thousands of Palestinian residents is a grave escalation and an appalling encroachment on the occupied Palestinian territories,” Hamas said in a statement on Saturday, labeling Israel’s measures as ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands and property.
The Movement stressed that Israel’s crimes and policies against the Palestinian people and their lands and holy sites will neither grant the Israeli occupation any legitimacy nor bring it security in Palestine, adding that Palestinians will always defend their lands and holy sites at all costs until they liberate their lands and regain all their rights.
“The international community must assume its responsibility by supporting the just Palestinian cause and ending the Israeli settlement activity which violates the international laws and conventions and poses a threat to the region, in addition to world peace and stability,” the Movement concluded.
