DaysofPal- Taher Al-Nono, media adviser to the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, stated that the Israeli occupation is pursuing policies of forced displacement and collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
Al-Nono also said that Hamas is exerting all possible efforts to restore the operation of the Rafah crossing to its previous state.
In press statements on Sunday, Al-Nono said that reopening the Rafah crossing represents an important achievement won by the will of the Palestinian people and should be built upon to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.
He explained that efforts are ongoing to accelerate the work of the Gaza Administration Committee to remove the Israeli pretexts and help build a better future for the Palestinian people.
He added that Hamas is awaiting the final date for the handover of Gaza’s administration to the technocratic committee so it can begin exercising its duties and responsibilities, confirming that communication with the committee is continuing.
Al-Nono denied that any operations have been carried out against the Israeli occupation, noting that the issue of resistance fighters stranded in Rafah requires a solution that guarantees their safe exit.
He said there is no accurate information on the number of fighters trapped in Rafah’s tunnels, pointing to the Israeli lack of willingness to resolve this issue.
Al-Nono also noted that around 15,000 wounded and sick people in Gaza are in urgent need of medical treatment outside the Strip, stressing the necessity of allowing the entry of heavy machinery and caravans, rebuilding homes, and improving living conditions for Palestinians in Gaza.
He added that the Israeli occupation was not keen on reaching a ceasefire agreement and had sought to continue the war until the end of the Israeli elections.
Al-Nono called for increased pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt its aggression, crimes, and continued targeting of civilians.
