DaysofPal- Hamas issued a statement declaring that the repeated entries into the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir demonstrate the occupying government’s determination to implement its Judaization projects. According to the movement, these actions, including the most recent incident on Sunday morning, reflect full official support for the agendas of extremist settler groups.
In the statement, Hamas called the incursion and the perceived desecration of the mosque a serious violation and a provocation to Muslims worldwide. It stressed that such actions do not change the religious status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and insisted that efforts to alter its identity would ultimately fail.
The group called on Palestinians to maintain a constant presence at the mosque and its courtyards, urging them to resist attempts to impose new realities on the ground.
It also appealed to Arab and Muslim countries to take action to defend the site and increase pressure on Israel to halt such activities. Hamas further called on the international community to assume responsibility and respond to what it described as ongoing violations.
Earlier on Sunday, Ben-Gvir entered the mosque complex under heavy protection from Israeli police and special forces. The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that a group of settlers accompanied him during the visit, performing religious rituals.
A video circulating online showed Ben-Gvir moving toward the Dome of the Rock prayer area, clapping, singing, and performing rituals while ascending steps leading toward the western side of the compound.
