During the past 10 days, at least eight UN-run schools in Gaza have been hit by airstrikes. These schools were serving as shelters for civilians seeking safety from the violence. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) facilities have borne the brunt of the conflict, with 70 percent of their buildings bombed since the war began nine months ago. Tragically, 539 people who sought refuge in these facilities have lost their lives.
