Gaza Faces Humanitarian Catastrophe as Fuel Blockade Continues

Israel Proposes Plan Expanding Its Military Control on Gaza Through Aid

DayofPal– For the fifth consecutive day, Israel has blocked the entry of fuel and humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza enclave, pushing over 2.4 million people toward an unprecedented crisis.

Salama Marouf, head of Gaza’s government media office, warned on Wednesday that the ongoing blockade is accelerating the collapse of essential services.

Hospitals and health centers are gradually shutting down as fuel supplies dwindle, putting thousands of patients and wounded civilians at grave risk. Critical services, including oxygen stations, dialysis units, operating rooms, and intensive care wards, are now on the brink of failure.

Dr. Ghazi Al-Yazji, head of the nephrology and kidney transplant department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, described the situation as a “humanitarian catastrophe in the making.”

“The lack of water has completely halted dialysis sessions,” Dr. Al-Yazji said, adding that “We urgently need a dedicated water desalination unit for the department, along with a stable fuel supply to keep our generators running.”

Beyond the hospitals, Gaza’s infrastructure is unraveling. Water desalination plants and drinking wells have ground to a halt, cutting off access to clean water for thousands.

Municipal services have collapsed, leaving waste piling up in streets, while sewage treatment stations have ceased operations, causing raw wastewater to flood urban areas.

“If this situation continues without urgent international intervention, we will see a complete paralysis of all essential services,” Marouf warned.

“Lifting the blockade and allowing the entry of fuel and humanitarian aid is not just necessary, it is a matter of survival.”

With each passing hour, Gaza’s crisis deepens, bringing the enclave closer to an irreversible humanitarian catastrophe.
