Dozens of extremist Israeli settlers, heavily guarded by Israeli occupation police, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque via Al-Maghariba Gate on Sunday morning, September 10, 2023.
In the early hours of Sunday, Israeli occupation forces IOF opened the Moroccan Gate and deployed their forces and special units in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and at its entrances to secure the incursions of the extremists.
The Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem reported that dozens of settlers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque, conducted provocative tours in its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals in the Bab al-Rahma area east of the mosque.
Restrictions on Muslims’ Entry
Israeli occupation police continue to restrict the entry of worshipers coming from Jerusalem and the occupied territories into Al-Aqsa, scrutinizing their identities and detaining some at its external gates.
Jerusalem residents have intensified their calls for a constant presence and vigilance in Al-Aqsa to thwart the schemes of the Israeli occupation and settlers.
The so-called Temple groups persist in their efforts to mobilize settlers widely for incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish holidays, which begin in mid-September.
During these holidays, extremist groups attempt to introduce new rituals in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, including prayers, fasting, sacrificial offerings, and the sounding of the shofar horn, among others.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to daily violations and incursions by settlers, protected by IOF, in an attempt to exert full control over the mosque, dividing it both temporally and spatially.
