The European Union (EU) called on Friday, September 30, for a swift and full investigation into the killing of Rayan Sulieman, 7, who was pronounced dead while being chased by Israeli occupation forces in occupied Bethlehem.
“The circumstances of this incident must be swiftly and fully investigated by Israeli authorities in order to bring the perpetrators to justice,” The EU stated on Twitter earlier Friday.
The EU expressed shock by “the tragic death of 7-year-old Rayan Suleiman yesterday during ISF activities in Taqoa village in the occupied West Bank.”
“Under International law, children enjoy special protection,” the European Union stressed, extending heartfelt condolences to Rayan’s family.
Earlier Thursday, Rayan Sulieman was proclaimed dead of a heart attack after being chased by Israeli forces during a military raid in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem.
The Israeli systematic target of Palestinian children resulted in killing at least 40 children since the start of 2022, mostly shot dead during military raids in West Bank
