Dozens of Israeli settlers invaded the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque this Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Eyewitnesses stated that the settlers entered the Al-Aqsa courtyards in successive groups through the Moroccan Gate and performed Talmudic rituals in its premises on the fourth day of the Jewish “Sukkot” holiday.
Large groups of settlers roamed the alleys of the occupied Old City of Jerusalem, performing Talmudic rituals at the gates of Al-Aqsa, specifically at the Chain Gate and the Cotton Merchants’ Gate.

1,941 settlers infiltrated Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday in successive groups through the Moroccan Gate, performing Talmudic rituals while carrying “vegetable offerings” made of palm fronds. Some of them even dressed in religious “priestly” attire.
In conjunction with the Jewish “Sukkot” holiday, the Israeli occupation imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinians coming from Jerusalem and the 1948-occupied Palestinian territories, scrutinizing their identities and detaining some at external gates.
The “Sukkot” holiday continues until the 7th of October this year, and alleged Jewish Temple organizations have intensified their calls to increase the number of settlers storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The “Sokkot” holiday marks the third occasion in this year’s Jewish holiday season, following the Jewish New Year and the “Day of Atonement.”
The Israeli occupation exploits Jewish holidays to provoke Palestinians, alongside significant violations such as the siege, military crackdowns at checkpoints, and hindrance of access to holy sites. Right-wing Jewish groups have called for intensified incursions into the mosque during these occasions.
