On Sunday September 15th, 2024, the Palestinian government media office in Gaza released figures showing the extent of Israel’s devastating war on Gaza since october 7th, 2023.
It has been 345 days since the outbreak of the Israeli war of genocide against Gaza people. The enclave has witnessed the drop of over 83,000 tones of explosives by the Israeli killing machines on the heads of people living in the most densely populated area in the world, the Gaza Strip. The preliminary statistics of estimated losses caused by the war amounts to over 33 billions.
Casualties
During this course of time, the Israeli army has executed 3584 massacres, resulting in the killing and missing of 51, 206 Palestinians, including 41,206 slain people who were reported in hospitals, and other 10,000 Palestinians who are still missed under the rubble or reported abducted by the army.
Moreover, 95,337 Palestinians have been wounded. In addition, 520 Gazans were exhumed from 7 mass graves dug inside different hospitals’ courtyards.
The total number of people detained by the Israeli army from the Gaza enclave reached 5000.
Children
Sadly, 69% of the victims were children and women. 16,795 innocent children were murdered in this heinous war, including 36 who died of famine, marking the highest number of children victims whose lives were claimed due to the violence of war over history.
171 babies were born and killed during the Genocide. Other 710 children under the age of one year were killed pathetically killed. Meanwhile, 19,000 children have been living without their parents or one of them.
About 3500 children are on the verge of death due to a combination of malnutrition, lack of water, and lack of medicines.
Women
The number of Palestinian women who were massacred in Israeli air or ground bombarding reached 11,378 females. 60,000 pregnant women are at risk due to the lack of access to health care.
Some pregnant women were reportedly rapped, verbally abused and physically assaulted by the Israeli soldiers while staying with their families in some healthcare shelters.
Personnel
885 Palestinians working in the healthcare sector were also killed, while other 310 health personnel were arrested; 83 persons of the victims were from the Civil Defense, while 173 journalists were deliberately killed, and 36 cases of arrest were reported among journalists whose names are known.
More than 115 professors and 750 teachers were also killed in this war.
Diseases
With 2 million Gazans have now been internally displaced either in tents or schools, 1, 737, 524 Palestinians, young or old, male or female, have been infected with infectious diseases as a result of displacement, while 71,338 cases are suffering of viral hepatitis infection due to the displacement.
Other 75,092 were infected without being displaced. It has been 131 days since Israel has closed all Gaza’s crossing, including Rafah, resulting in 12,000 wounded people who are being in need to travel for “life-saving and dangerous” treatment.
11,000 of whom are in need to conduct medical operations; 3000 others need different treatments aboard.
Furthermore, 10,000 cancer patients are at verge of death and need treatment. 350,000 chronic patients are at risk due to non-administration of medications.
Health System
The already-deteriorated health system in Gaza has been collapsing in this war. 162 health institutions were targeted by the Israeli occupation.
34 hospitals have been rendered out of service by the Israeli attacks, 80 of health centers are now out of service. 131 ambulances were targeted by the Israeli airstrikes.
Buildings
200 government headquarters were destroyed by the Israeli airstrikes or tanks’ attacks. (125, 611, 150,000) of schools and universities, mosques, and housing unites, respectively, were completely destroyed.
80,000 houses are inhabitable, and 100,000 tents have deteriorated and are no longer suitable for displaced people.
While (336, 214, 297,000) schools and universities, mosques, and housing unites, respectively, were partially demolished by the Israeli army war machine.
80,000 housing units have become uninhabitable, and 35 sports centers were rendered out of service.
3130 km long electric cables for power plant along with 700 water walls have been completely destroyed. In addition, 2,835,000 meter long of street networks and 655,000 meter ling of sewage networks were damaged.
206 archaeological and heritage sites in addition to 3 churches were also destroyed and affected by the Israeli bombardment.
