A CNN investigation has found that nearly half of Hamas’ military battalions in northern and central Gaza have rebuilt some of their fighting capabilities at least once.
CNN journalist Allegra Goodwin posted on X that a research, covering the Palestinian group’s activity until July, finds that while Israel inflicted heavy damage on Hamas, “its units have managed to reconstitute and shift to guerrilla tactics in areas of Gaza declared ‘cleared’ by the Israeli military.”
Hamas is likely to continue regrouping and reorganising, as Israel lacks a long-term military plan and a ceasefire does not appear to be in sight, Goodwin said.
In one of the addresses of Al-Qassam Spokesman, Abu Obaida, he confirmed that Al-Qassam had recruited thousands of fighters during the war. This raise a question about Israel’s stated aimes of its ability to eradicate Hamas capabilities.
