DayofPal– Members of the Palestinian civil defense are trapped in northern Gaza alongside tens of thousands of civilians, enduring relentless ground and aerial assaults for 11 consecutive days.
On Tuesday, the civil defense reported, “The Israeli occupation army continues to target our teams with drones, obstructing our access to the wounded. A significant number of victims remain buried beneath the rubble, and we are unable to reach them.”
Under International law, Civil Defense teams and civilians, especially children and women, must be protected during wars; attacking them is prohibited and requires accountability.
For over a week, northern Gaza, including Jabalia, has been devoid of food, water, and fuel, as Israeli forces intensify their campaign to clear the region of residents under a newly declared plan “The General’s Plan”.
Both the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor and the UN have warned that more than 400,000 Palestinians are facing starvation and dehydration, trapped without any aid for weeks.
In a statement, Euro-Med highlighted the tragic fate of Palestinian civilians who sought aid from a UNRWA food distribution center in Jabalia amid intense hunger.
Israeli forces targeted the center with drone strikes and artillery shells, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 40 others. Many of the victims’ bodies remain in the streets, as ongoing bombardments prevented their transport to hospitals.
Euro-Med condemned Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of war, accusing the occupation state of intentionally inflicting living conditions aimed at the destruction of Gaza’s Palestinian population.
The organization described the situation as one of the largest-scale crimes of mass starvation in modern history.
