The Palestinian Prisoners’ Center for Studies said that the number of Palestinian administrative prisoners in the occupation jails has reached more than 535 prisoners, including two women, 3 children, and 2 cancer patients.
The center added in a statement issued on Monday 11 April 2022 that despite the administrative prisoners’ boycott of the Israeli courts from the beginning of the year, the occupation authorities deliberately escalated the policy of issuing administrative orders against Palestinian prisoners.
“The occupation courts issued more than 400 administrative orders between new and renewal during the first quarter of this year, raising the number of administrative prisoners to 535,” it stressed.
The number is expected to rise more during the coming period as a result of the intensification of the occupation authorities’ arrest operations in the occupied Wes Bank and Jerusalem.
A large number of prisoners who have been kidnapped are still subject to interrogation, and a number of them are expected to be transferred to administrative detention in the coming days.
Moreover, it pointed out that signing the administrative detention is a policy of punishment pursued by the occupation against the Palestinian people in an attempt to fail their resistance.
It called for a real international stance towards this arbitrary policy against the prisoners, adding that the occupation is violating international law.
