The 51-year-old Palestinian Prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid who suffered from cancer died on Wednesday morning 20 December 2022 because of the deliberate Israeli medical negligence the Israeli occupation uses against Palestinian inmates in Israeli jails.
Abu Hamid has been suffering from cancer since long time. Yet, the Israeli occupation forces insisted on keeping him under inappropriate condition in Israeli prisons with no adequate medical care.
Although human rights bodies including the International Red Cross demanded the Israeli occupation to release Abu Hamid to be able to get proper treatment as his medial status was very serious, the Israeli prisons services ignored the warning and insisted on inhuman punishment.
Palestinian sources noted on Tuesday that health of Abu Hamid has seriously deteriorated, and he was moved to the intense care unite in the hospital under Israeli heavy guard.
Yet, Palestinian Ministry of prisoners and freed prisoners declared on Wednesday morning that Abu Hamid has died because of the Israeli medical negligence that was used against him.
The ministry added that the Israeli occupation forces still seize the body of Naser Abu Hamid and refuse to hand it over to his family.
The Israeli occupation forces seize some 4,500 Palestinian prisoners in inhuman conditions in different Israeli jails including 34 female prisoners, 180 minors, and about (500) administrative detainees.
They are suffering difficult circumstances as they are exposed to torture, deliberate medical negligence, solitary confinement, and administrative detention.
Abu Hmeid is one of five siblings serving life sentences in Israeli prisons. He has been imprisoned since 2002, and is serving seven life sentences and an additional 50 years behind Israeli bars.
