The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed on Thursday morning the Al-Aqsa Mosque and besieged the tribal chapel.
Local sources reported that IOF stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque after the dawn prayer and intensively attacked Palestinians with gas canisters and rubber bullets to get them out of the mosque.
IOF seeks to force the Palestinians to leave the holy mosque in order to pave the way for the settlers’ incursions.
Al-Qastal Jerusalemite news agency reported that the IOF surrounded young men inside the tribal chapel in Al-Aqsa Mosque and fired rubber bullets and gas canisters, causing dozens of cases of suffocation among the Palestinians.
Meanwhile, the IOF forced the press staff to leave Al-Aqsa Mosque after attacking them, Al-Qastal confirmed.
Jerusalemite sources said that an elderly Palestinian was injured by a rubber bullet as a result of the occupation forces’ suppression of residents in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The extremist settlers’ “Temple” groups called for the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque today under the pretext of commemorating the first Jewish holiday in 2022, called “Sacrifice Day” or “Purim”.
It is reported that settlers enter Al-Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis, except on Friday and Saturday, through dense groups of heavily armed occupiers.
