Tensions in the occupied Jerusalem have been boiling up particularly over the past few days with the escalation of demolitions of Palestinians’ homes and structures as the Israeli occupation begins to implement a plan to demolish 14 Palestinians’ homes under the pretext of building without a permit in accordance with the policy of the far-right Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Earlier this week, Ben Gvir instructed the Israeli occupation forces to implement a plan approved by the Israeli Knesset to demolish 14 Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem.

“This morning the demolition of homes continues in Jerusalem – this is one step in a series of important steps to impose control,” said Ben Gvir.

In 2022, Israeli occupation forces forcibly demolished more than 209 inhabited Palestinain facilities in various areas of occuiped Jerusalem. Israeli occupation also confiscated a number of Palestinian-owned lands and properties in favor of Israeli settlers’ expansion most notably the land of Hamra in the Silwan neighborhood.
