Anti-Netanyahu’s Protests Continue for 21st Week

Tens of thousands of Israelis took to the streets in mass protests agaisnt the government new plans to to overhaul the legal system, on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

The protests, in its 21st week, came days after Netanyahu’s coalition of ultra-Orthodox and ultranationalist parties passed a new two-year budget.

Thousands gathered in Tel Aviv where the main protest took place, waving flags and raising anti-governemnt signs.

Since the start of 2023, several protests have been held against the new government. More than 100,000 people turned up in Tel Aviv only on January 21, 2023.

The protests are mainly organized against the government’s proposed changes that will ‘weaken the judicial system’. Some protests criticized the country’s treatment of Palestinians.
