DaysofPal- Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, has called on Palestinians to intensify their presence at the holy site by attending prayers, engaging in religious study, and maintaining a continuous presence within its courtyards.
Sabri stressed that a sustained and steadfast Palestinian presence at Al-Aqsa now constitutes the strongest line of defense and the primary safeguard against Israeli efforts to impose a new Judaized reality inside the mosque compound.
He warned that the escalation of Judaization plans poses a direct and serious threat to the identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly in light of the increasing number of provocative settler incursions and the performance of Talmudic rituals within the compound.
Sabri also pointed to growing calls by extremist groups to establish a Jewish synagogue inside the mosque’s courtyards, describing these efforts as part of broader attempts by Israeli occupation forces and settler organizations to impose a system of temporal and spatial division at the site as a step toward advancing the so-called Temple Project.
The appeal comes amid an unprecedented escalation on the ground. More than 1,494 settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the past week, during which extremist Temple groups reportedly carried out a series of activities and tours under heavy protection from Israeli forces. Palestinian sources also reported that Israeli occupation forces imposed restrictions on Muslim worshippers seeking access to the site.
Sabri’s call coincided with broader appeals from Jerusalem-based activists and Palestinian community groups directed at Palestinians inside Israel and residents of the occupied West Bank who are able to reach Jerusalem.
The calls urged mass mobilization and increased attendance at Al-Aqsa Mosque to mark a major religious occasion and to reinforce the mosque’s spiritual and cultural identity in the face of ongoing efforts to erase its Arab and Islamic character.
