Act For Palestine Foundation strongly condemned Wednesday, April 12, 2023, the letter sent to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights by the International Legal Forum (ILF) which is an Israel-based global network, demanding the fire of its special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories Dr. Francesca Albanese as she is seeking to ensure the United Nations mission.
“Dr. Francesca Albanese has been working transparently to accomplish justice and steer global public opinion towards the issues of oppressed peoples through documented reports and verified facts, “As it is the responsibility of all international institutions in the world to combat injustice, colonialism, and oppression,” said Act For Palestine.
It added, “such Israeli policies and messages undermine the role of international organizations, including the United Nations, in attaining justice for people everywhere, particularly for the Palestinian people, who have endured Israeli occupation for 75 years.”
The foundation concluded its statement, “We stand in solidarity with Dr. Francesca Albanese against such an arbitrary and baseless letter and admit that she transparently is working hard to expose the Israeli heinous crimes of apartheid, genocide, and war crimes against defenseless Palestinians.”
Today, Monday, the Israeli organization called the “International Legal Forum” attacked the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the 1967-occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, calling for her termination.
The “Israeli” organization sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, demanding for the removal of Albanese from office.
This direct incitement against Albanese comes after her last statement, which was issued on April 8 via Twitter saying, “The loss of life in the occupied Palestinian territory and the Israeli occupation state is devastating, especially at a time when peace should be for all, Christians, Jews and Muslims. Israel has the right to defend itself, but it cannot claim it when it comes to the people it oppresses and whose lands it colonizes.”
The extremist Israeli organization claims that Albanese is biased to the Palestinian cause at the United Nations, demanding, according to its letter, “to ensure that the United Nations adheres to its rules and standards by expelling Albanese and completely abolishing her position.”
At the conclusion of its 49th session, held in Geneva in March 2022, the Human Rights Council appointed Francesca Albanese as Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the 1967-occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, to succeed the Special Rapporteur, Professor Michael Link, and assumed her duties on 1 May 2022.
