The head of Hajj and Umrah companies in Gaza, Awad Abu Mazkour, confirmed that there is no official information yet regarding granting Palestine to participate in the Umrah and Hajj season for this year 2022.
Abu Mazkour said that until now, it has not been agreed whether Palestine will participate in the Umrah and Hajj season for this year due to the Corona pandemic.
He added that the Hajj and Umrah companies in the Gaza Strip are ready to resume work and conclude contracts with Saudi Hajj companies, but so far there is no official information on that.
About three thousand pilgrims are registered to perform the Hajj every year with Hajj and Umrah companies in the Gaza Strip, while about 70 Hajj and Umrah companies in the Strip suffered losses estimated at two million dollars after the failure of the Hajj season last year.
