DaysofPal – The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society said on Tuesday that they had received responses from the Israeli military identifying the detention locations of 14 Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip, while warning that many others remain victims of enforced disappearance.
In a joint statement, the two organizations said the detainees are being held in several Israeli prisons and detention facilities, primarily Nafha Prison and Negev Prison, as well as Nitsan Prison in Ramla and Janot Prison.
The organizations stressed that Israeli occupation forces continue to withhold information about the fate and whereabouts of a large number of Palestinians detained in Gaza, describing the practice as enforced disappearance in violation of international humanitarian law.
They called on international organizations and human rights bodies to take urgent action to pressure Israel to disclose the fate and locations of all Gaza detainees and to ensure their protection in accordance with international law.
The detainees whose locations have been verified are listed by the organizations as follows:
– Majdi Salem – Nafha Prison
– Abdul Rahman Rabah Suleiman Shalah – Nafha Prison
– Bilal Adnan Ahmed Abu Nofal – Negev Prison
– Akram Hassan Ali Quffa – Negev Prison
– Ibrahim Zuhair Mohammed Kafarna – Nafha Prison
– Abdul Aziz Saeed Ajal – Negev Prison
– Mohammed Majed Kamal Shambari – Nafha Prison
– Taher Mohammed Ismail Abu Ouda – Nafha Prison
– Youssef Al-Najjar – Negev Prison
– Mohammed Iyad Jalhoum – Nitsan Prison (Ramla)
– Ahmed Samir Ali Al-Houm – Janot Prison
– Ali Mohammed Qablan – Negev Prison
– Saleh Hashem Alu Eish – Negev Prison
– Yasser Ibrahim Aqra’ – Negev Prison
The Commission and the Prisoners’ Society reiterated that revealing the locations of these detainees does not diminish concerns over the many Palestinians from Gaza whose whereabouts remain unknown, renewing their demand for full disclosure and international oversight of all detainees held by Israel.
