DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli genocide has risen to 73,221 victims as recovery teams continue to retrieve victims from beneath the rubble.
According to the ministry’s latest daily report, seven fatalities and 28 injured individuals were brought to hospitals across the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours as a result of the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
However, officials warned that the actual number of casualties is likely higher, as many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or lie in areas that remain inaccessible to emergency responders.
The ministry stated that ambulance and civil defense teams are facing significant challenges in reaching affected areas due to widespread destruction and ongoing dangerous conditions.
Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, a total of 1,098 people have been killed and 3,535 injured by ongoing Israeli forces, in addition to approximately 800 bodies that have been recovered during search operations.
The ministry also reported that the cumulative toll since the start of the Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,221 fatalities and 173,643 injuries.
This figure includes an additional 96 deaths that were recently verified and added to the official count after their data was completed from cases dating back to early June.
Efforts to locate and recover missing individuals remain ongoing, amid continued humanitarian challenges and limited access to affected areas due to the suffocating Israeli siege.
