Gaza Herald- The Hamas Movement has renewed its calls to international mediators, as well as Arab and Islamic nations, to intensify pressure on Israel to halt ongoing military actions in the Gaza Strip.
In an official statement released on Monday, the movement stated that while Palestinian factions remain committed to maintaining the current ceasefire agreement and implementing its terms, Israeli military operations have persisted.
According to the statement, recent bombardments since dawn have resulted in the deaths of six citizens and injured more than twenty others across the Gaza Strip, which Hamas characterized as a clear evasion of ceasefire commitments.
The statement placed direct responsibility on international mediators and the “Peace Council” for the continued violence, citing a lack of decisive efforts to deter the current Israeli government administration and halt operations against the population in Gaza.
Persistent Breaches
Reports indicate ongoing breaches of the ceasefire agreement through localized aerial and artillery shelling targeting displacement areas. Additionally, demolition and destruction activities continue within designated zones, alongside sustained restrictions on the movement of commercial goods, humanitarian aid, and travel.
Rising Casualties
According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the humanitarian cost has continued to rise even after the ceasefire framework was initially established on October 10. Since that date, the death toll has risen by 1,072 individuals, with an additional 3,463 injured and 799 bodies recovered from beneath the rubble.
These recent figures bring the overall cumulative casualties recorded since October 7, 2023, to approximately 73,098 fatalities and 173,571 injuries, underscoring the severe human toll of the prolonged conflict in the region.
