DaysofPal – Spokesperson for the Hamas Movement, Hazem Qassem, strongly condemned the Israeli justification of its latest massacre in the Gaza Strip, calling it “a manifestation of racism and moral depravity in legitimizing mass murder.”

In a brief statement released Wednesday evening, Qassem denounced Israeli officials’ claims that the killing of over a hundred civilians, most of them women and children, was a “response” to the death of a single Israeli soldier.

“It is inconceivable,” he said, noting that “ the world would accept such reasoning or attempt to justify the murder of an entire family, of dozens of children, under any pretext.”

Qassem also criticized remarks by a U.S. official who described the Israeli attack as a “limited response” aimed at Hamas fighters.

He said those statements blatantly ignore the facts on the ground, which confirm that 46 children and 20 women were killed in that night alone, in “a fully executed war crime.”

He stressed that the continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement expose its total disregard for international mediation efforts and its lack of commitment to halting the war.

Qassem said, “The Israeli occupation’s behavior proves there is no real intent to honor the truce or respect the understandings brokered by international parties.”

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the Israeli assault on Tuesday night left 104 Palestinians dead, including 46 children and 20 women, and 253 injured, among them 78 children and 84 women.

Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, the ministry reports 211 Palestinians killed due to Israeli violations, while the overall toll from the ongoing war has risen to 68,643 dead and 170,655 wounded, where such figures that underscores the immense scale of the humanitarian catastrophe facing the Gaza Strip.
