Israeli Jewish settlers damaged and vandalised on Wednesday Palestinian vehicles in Jerusalem village of Beit Eksa; locals said they are members of “extremist settlers’ group Price Tag.”
Locals in the village said that the Israeli Jewish settlers, who were descended from the illegal settlement of Ramot, built on lands of Beit Eksa, punctured the tires of several vehicles and spray-painted “racist slogans” on them.
The locals said that crime took place before dawn on Wednesday in Aqbat Zayid and Al-Burj neighbourhoods of the village.
Many Palestinian activists and rights groups have proved that the Israeli government protect the Israelis who commit violent attacks against Palestinians such as the “Price Tag.”
Better known as "price tag" attacks, extremis Israeli settlers use violent acts of retribution on Palestinians and their property to demonstrate their opposition to Israeli restrictions on settlements and their outposts in the occupied West Bank.
In March 2017, Israeli NGO Yesh Din revealed that the Israeli occupation authorities served indictments in only 8.2 per cent of cases of Israeli settlers committing anti-Palestinian crimes in the occupied West Bank in the past three years.
About 800,000 illegal Israeli Jewish settlers live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law, with recent announcements of settlement expansion provoking condemnation from the international community.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported 107 settler attacks against Palestinians and their properties in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem in 2017. OCHA has recorded 56 such attacks since the beginning of the year.
