Thousands performed Friday prayers within the precincts of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the gates and entrances of the Old City in occupied Jerusalem.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem estimated that around 50,000 worshipers performed the Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Local sources reported that occupation forces were deployed in the city streets and around the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They stationed themselves at its entrances, stopped worshipers, scrutinized their identification cards, and assaulted them, resulting in injuries and bruises for a number of Palestinians.
