Days of Palestine – Kuwait
Kuwaiti civil society organizations affirmed Saturday their country’s firm position on the Palestinian issue and its rejection of normalization with the Israeli occupation.
Kuwaiti organizations said, in a message to the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, that “with US President Joe Biden’s visit to the region, and the unprecedented rise in the wave of normalization with the Zionist gangs, we affirm our permanent position on the Palestinian issue and reject any form of normalization under any justification.”
They pointed out that “supporting the Palestinian people in their freedom struggle and demanding the liberation of all their occupied lands is a moral, humanitarian and principled demand that does not accept bargaining, concession or submission.”
Kuwaiti organizations announced, in their statement, their “total and categorical rejection of these suspicious deals and their attempt to impose them as a fait accompli.”
They stressed “adherence to the provisions of the (Kuwaiti) constitution, which states in its first article that the people of Kuwait are part of the Arab nation and will remain on the covenant in support of the first central issue.”
They said that we have always been proud of Kuwaitis, both at the popular and official levels of their position toward the Palestinian cause.
The statement was signed by 28 Kuwaiti organizations, most notably: the Kuwait Lawyers Association, the Kuwaiti Sociologists Association, the Kuwait Transparency Society, the Kuwait Society of Engineers, the Kuwait Society for National Action, the Kuwaiti Dr. Society, the National Association for Family Security “Rawasi”, the Kuwaiti Graduates Society, the Kuwait Society for Postgraduate Studies, Maqasid Educational Association.
