The Palestinian researcher Radwan Amr, warned on Saturday, July 2, of the dangers of the stones falling from the pillars of the Al-Aqsa due to the Israeli excavations in the southern and western areas of the mosque’s wall.
Amr stated that stones are falling from the large rock pillars, the oldest among the columns of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On Friday, the Islamic Endowment Department of Jerusalem announced stones continue to fall from the pillars of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is located under the Qibla prayer hall. This came after another stone had fallen on Friday, July 1.
The Palestinian Endowment has been denied permission to independently investigate the cause of these ominous stone-falls as the renovation works in the southwestern part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been banned by Israeli authorities since 1967.
