Two Palestinian brothers, held under administrative detentions in Israeli prisons, entered on Monday, September 7, 2022, their 31st consecutive day of hunger strike in Israeli prisons, demanding their freedom.
Ahmad and Adal Musa, from Al-Khadr town in Bethlehem, started an open-ended hunger strike 31 days ago in protest of their illegal administrative detention without charge or trial.
44-year-old Ahmad, a father of 7 children, is serving a four-month administrative sentence, and he suffers from heart and kidney diseases. In 2009, he went on a hunger strike for 31 days before suffering a stroke and suspending the strike as a result.
Ahmed was transferred several times to the Ramleh prison clinic due to his serious health conditions. However, the Israeli authorities rejected an appeal submitted by Ahmed’s lawyer, requesting that his administrative detention will not be renewed.
Meanwhile, Adal, 34, had previously spent 7 years in Israeli prisons. When he was detained the last time on August 7, the Israeli occupation court issued an administrative detention order against him for 3 months.
About 723 Palestinian prisoners, including 11 children, are currently held under administrative detention in Israeli prisons without charge or trial.
