The Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed Sunday, July 10, 2022, that the number of Palestinian prisoners contracted with Covid-19 in an Israeli occupation prison, Ashkelon, has reached 16.
The Prisoner’s Club indicated that a number of the infected prisoners are sick and suffer from chronic diseases and are serving high sentences, including life sentences.
“The first person whose infection was revealed in Ashkelon prison is Iyad Nazir Omar from Jenin camp, who suffers from cancer,” the Prisoner’s Club pointed out.
Meanwhile, the Prisoner’s Club held the occupation prisons administration fully responsible for their lives.
It is noteworthy that the number of Palestinian prisoners in “Ashkelon” prison is about 35, including at least 17 prisoners who suffer from chronic diseases and need constant health follow-up.
