On November 12, 2012, Israeli warplanes waged one of the most disastrous courses of violence against the besieged Gaza when it started with the assassination of the Palestinian resistance leader Ahmed Al-Jaabari.
Lasting for 8 days, the Israeli aggression left massive human and material losses. The Israeli warplanes carried out 1500 airstrikes against Palestinian civil houses, structures, agricultural lands, properties, and people gatherings.
Palestinian Losses
The Israeli deadly attacks killed about 168 Palestinians, including 36 children and 14 women, according to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
In addition, at least 1046 Palestinian men, women, children, and elderly were reported injured by the Israeli attacks on different areas across the Gaza Strip.
By the end of 21 November 2022, the Israeli warplanes had completely destroyed about 200 houses and partially damaged 1500 others.
The Israeli missiles targeted different medical, educational, and religious places. Two mosques were completely destroyed after being targeted by Israeli missiles.
Several cemeteries were hit by Israeli missiles in a flagrant violation of International law. In addition, 50 schools were damaged due to the Israeli bombing.
Israeli Massacres Against Families
During the 8-day aggression, the Israeli war machine committed heinous crimes against Palestinian families after targeting their homes. Al-Dalou and Abu Zour families were among the victims of Israeli eight days of violence in Gaza.
November 18 marked the fifth day of Israeli aggression against Gaza when Israeli warplanes targeted the house of the Al-Dalou family and killed its residents.
The massacre resulted in the massacring of 11 Palestinians, including five children and four women. Two of the victims were pulled out from under the rubble two days after the massacre.
On the following day, Palestinians in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in central Gaza City woke up to another bloody crime committed by the Israeli war machine.
Known for its overcrowding, the Zaytoun neighborhood was targeted with several Israeli missiles. Palestinians reported that Israeli drones dropped a warning missile on the neighborhood, which was immediately followed by several bombs before Palestinians got a chance to flee.
Four Palestinians fell victim to the Israeli crime, including two women. In addition, a 4-year-old girl was among the victims while 35 others were injured, 7 in serious condition.
In response to the Israeli crimes, including the killing of Al-Jaabari, a senior leader of Al-Qassam Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Palestinian resistance groups fired rockets at the Israeli settlements adjacent to Gaza Strip. For the first time, the Palestinian rockets reached Tel Aviv.
On November 21, Israel stopped its aggression after a ceasefire was signed between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation with Egyptian mediation.
The agreement ensured that Israel would lift the siege on Gaza. Yet Israel didn’t abide by it. Since 2012, Israel has not stopped its attacks against the Gaza Strip.
In 2022, Palestinians in Gaza survived another wave of Israeli violence, the fourth since 2012, which claimed the lives of about 50 Palestinians including children and women.
Palestinians in Gaza Strip have been living under a land, air, and sea blockade imposed by Israel since 2006. Since 2006, Israel waged five deadly wars against civilians in Gaza, claiming the lives of thousands and turning the situation into a humanitarian disaster.
