On May 3rd, Hamas movement confirmed in a press release that a Palestinian delegation from the movement will head to Cairo tomorrow, Saturday, to continue talks and discussions about the deal on the table in light of recent contacts with the mediators in Egypt and Qatar.
While confirming the positive spirit with which the movement’s leadership dealt in the course of time studying the recent ceasefire proposal, the Hamas leaders are going to Cairo with the same spirit to reach an agreement, the statement said.
Hamas, in addition, emphasized that the movement and other Palestinian resistance factions determine to mature the current deal to address Gaza people’s demands, including a complete cessation of aggression, withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from the enclave, and return of displaced people to their places in the north.
Moreover, the deal must allow the flow of relief for all people, commencement of reconstruction, and the completion of a serious prisoner exchange deal.
Sources to Al Arabi Al Jadid uncovered that Hamas delegation will head to Cairo on Saturday to deliver the final position regarding the latest proposal.
The delegation to Cairo carries a message directed from the head of Hamas Movement in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, to the head of Egyptian intelligence, Abbas Kamel, including a clear response to precise points requested recently by Egypt.
The developments took place after Cairo reached a new formula for a ceasefire and presented it to both sides. Hamas expressed its approval with demands of clear American guarantees regarding it.
An Egyptian source to Al Arabi Al Jadeed hinted that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is still working to sabotage efforts to reach a deal in a way that shows his indifference about the fate of Israeli hostages in Gaza, only to escape paying a high price for their release.
