Israeli media claimed that the Israeli army bombarded targets in Gaza in response to incendiary balloons fired from Gaza. The balloons, as the Israeli army claimed, caused a fire in settlements surrounding Gaza.

Hazem Qassem, the Hamas spokesman, said in a press statement commenting on the Israeli crime that the Israeli bombing of Gaza is a failed attempt to stop our people's quest to recover their rights, and a miserable attempt to restore their image that was torn by the sword of Jerusalem.

Qassem added that our people and their resistance will continue their legitimate struggle to extract their right to live in freedom and dignity, despite the Zionist machine of oppression.

"The Israeli occupation will fail - as it always does - to change the equations or impose facts," he stressed.
