Arab Parliament warns against Israel's insistence on organizing “Flags March”

Days of Palestine - Cairo

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Asoumi, warned of the danger of an explosive situation in the region if the occupying power, "Israel", insisted on organizing a "flags march" around the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday.

In a statement, Al-Asumi warned of the great danger involved in violating religious sanctities in occupied Jerusalem, and the provocation it poses to the feelings of millions of Muslims and Christians around the world.

He stressed that this provocative step will lead to a new worsening of the situation, as well as undermining efforts aimed at establishing calm in the region, in the wake of the devastation caused by the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He called on the international community to put pressure on "Israel" to stop its provocative policies, which will only bring more violence and destruction to the region.

He considered that these provocations constitute a flagrant violation of all rules of international law and a blatant challenge to all resolutions of international legitimacy.
